About HME Home Health

HME’s team connected with Ballistic Arts because they needed an agency they could trust to modernize their website. They wanted a refreshed look that better represented their leadership in the accessibility industry. Beyond aesthetics, HME needed a site that could integrate seamlessly with specific third-party tools.

Our web development team produced a sleek, user-friendly website tailored to their core audience of individuals aged 50+. The result? A modern, functional platform that met all of HME’s needs with simplicity and powerful integrations.

The Problem

While HME is known as a leader in the accessibility industry, its online presence did not effectively showcase its expertise. The company’s website was older and didn’t reflect the company’s innovative approach. What was even more problematic was that it did not provide the functionality HME needed to serve its customers effectively.

Through in-depth conversations with the HME team, we identified the key elements needed for a successful website. The HME team wanted to:

  • Modernize their online presence with a fresh, professional design.
  • Transform the site into a fully functional e-commerce platform with integrations for payment processing, live chat, and service scheduling.
  • Introduce interactive tools to guide users in finding the right products or solutions without feeling overwhelmed by the diverse options.

When designing the new website, we also needed to consider HME’s primary target audience—people aged 50 years or older. Because HME’s prime customers value design simplicity and clarity, its online site must remain intuitive and accessible.

The Solution

Using these detailed guidelines, we created a website that merged functionality and user-friendly design. We were especially thoughtful when crafting the website’s layout, prioritizing HME’s specific audience needs with easy navigation and an intuitive presentation of key information.

We developed two interactive tools to make this website truly valuable to HME’s customers. These two tools guide users through their decision-making process. The Home Assessment Tool helps users identify accessibility needs for their space, while the Product Recommendation Test narrows down product options based on user input.

By considering the need for simplicity and combining it with improved functionality, we delivered a website that met all of HME’s requirements while maintaining an intuitive and accessible user experience.

Process Highlights

Collaborative Planning

We started the redesign process by collaborating closely with the HME team to ensure we understood their requirements completely. Through combined brainstorming sessions and ongoing reviews, we completed the project in a timely and cost-effective manner.

The best part of our collaborative efforts was that they ensured that the final website product addressed all of HME’s design, functionality, and integration needs.

Prototyping for Clarity and Precision

We used industry-standard tools like Figma to create detailed mockups and prototypes to keep the project on track and minimize revisions. This allowed us to effectively showcase the design and UI/UX layouts in a format where HME could provide timely feedback.

Our web development team always aims to present our tailored websites on platforms like Figma so that clients like HME get a clear vision of the final product. Overall, we are able to streamline decision-making and foster confidence in the project’s direction.

Balancing Innovation with Accessibility

Designing a website for an audience aged 50+ presents unique challenges. To ensure HME’s new website was suitable for this target audience, we needed to find the perfect mix of modern design and straightforward usability.

We knew the site needed to look fresh and professional while still being easy for anyone to navigate, regardless of age or tech experience.

We tackled this part of the project by creating a clean, uncluttered interface that made information easy to find and use. By putting ourselves in the shoes of HME’s audience, we built a site that feels both innovative and approachable, helping users find what they need without becoming frustrated or confused.

Building for Security and Integration

We built HME’s new site using our JAMstack approach, which lets us leverage NextJS for enhanced performance and security. This architecture allows our team to seamlessly integrate the website with third-party platforms.

We made sure all of the platforms required by the HME team were easily integrated:

  • Stripe for payment processing
  • Affirm for financing options
  • LiveChat for real-time assistance
  • Zuper for service scheduling

Let Us Help You Transform Your Digital Presence

With the newly completed website live, it’s safe to say we exceeded HME’s expectations. Their transformed site offers a polished, professional look, improved functionality, and seamless integrations.

The best part of this project is feeling a true sense of partnership to ensure our clients’ happiness. Our collaborative approach made HME feel fully involved in the project, and this was reflected in the final result, which effectively reflected their input and general vision.

The website now aligns with HME’s brand and supports its mission to provide accessible solutions to a broader audience.
